6 Inspirational Quotes from the film World’s Fastest Indian

1. “If you don’t follow through on your dreams, you might as well be a vegetable.” – World’s Fastest Indian

The above is a great quote from the film and it is part of the message we aim to write about here at InspirationTheRide.com.

We want to provide great quotes that we hope inspire you to take action because they have inspired us to take action.

And, if you don’t take action on fulfilling your dreams that only you know in your heart, you may as well be a vegetable….

The World’s Fastest Indian is about a man who never gave up on his dream regardless of his critics and the naysayers. Watch a clip and the trailer here:

2. “Danger is the spice of life. You got to take a risk every now and again… That’s what makes life worthwhile. I’ve always tried to never be scared of anything. Of course I get butterflies and nervous.” – World’s Fastest Indian

The above is another great quote we pulled from the film. Danger can also be interpreted by some as change and this prohibits them from taking action. What you have to do then is acknowledge that we all get these “butterflies” of nervousness, but that shouldn’t stop you from making life worthwhile. We all have our setbacks and get nervous about the fear of failure, but what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

3. “It’s not the critic that counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could’ve done them better – the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.”- Theodore Roosevelt as quoted in World’s Fastest Indian

To me, this quote meant the reward is in being the person doing it. Everyone can sit back and criticize, but these same critics never want to present a solution to help you improve. They can always point out how others have faltered, but they can’t offer positive feedback or do it themselves.

The point is, don’t let negative criticism hold you back. Constructive criticism helps and is ok because it helps us get better, but if it is negative then seek a different environment.

However, never step out of that “arena” called life and never stop seeking your personal fulfillment.

4. “You live more in 5 minutes on a bike like this than some people live in a lifetime.” – World’s Fastest Indian

This quote really captures the essence of living life. Most people go their whole lives without testing their limits, seeing what they’re made of. You have to be willing to test yourself so that you can challenge your limits and truly live life.

5. “If you don’t go when you want to go, when you do go you’ll find you’ve gone.” – World’s Fastest Indian

This quote tells me that if I wait too long, when I do come around to think about doing whatever I wanted to do in life, I may no longer be able to do it. I may be too old. I may be sick. I may be gone or dead.

Don’t let your life pass you by just to find that you no longer have the time or energy to do everything you told yourself you wanted to do.

6. “I always figure a man’s like a blade of grass. He grows up in the spring strong, healthy, and green; he reaches middle age and he ripens as they were; and in the autumn he, like a blade of grass, he finishes, fades away and he never comes back. Just like a blade of grass. I think when you’re dead you’re dead.” – World’s Fastest Indian

For this quote, there was actually an old client of mine that was 70 years old. He recently passed away.

One time when we sat down to eat dinner, he told us of how he had all these dreams of what he was going to do when he got older. Well, now that he was older, he said he didn’t feel like doing them. His old age had now taken its toll on his body and he no longer had the energy to do the things he wanted to do.

His advice (and what we have always been striving to do in our lives anyway) was to live life NOW. Not LATER, NOW!

This was a profound statement to hear from someone of his age and it made me think of others who are approaching old age and haven’t done what they stated they wanted to do.

Please don’t let that be you. It is not your time to just fade away like a blade of grass. Not yet anyway….

  1. I love the first quote, about following through – so true – dreams that aren't put into any action – are really nothing, aren't they. And all of the quotes, so good to think about – and about life and what we're doing with the life we each have. Wonderful!
