“If it doesn’t make you happy, don’t do it” and
“If you don’t like something, change it”
These ideas sound simple enough, right? Just change what you don’t like about your life.
Easy.
Done.
But then comes the bogeyman, which are the feelings such as fear and lack of confidence that go along with changing your life.
These feelings of the fear of change prevent changes in life. I once heard the following, “Change is kind of like a band-aid. It hurts like hell when you pull it off but once it’s off it feels great.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
It takes a while to pull that band-aid off.
But when you really get the concept of changing your life, I mean REALLY get it, and finally implement it into your life, it’s like a wave of freedom and fearlessness rushes through you like a tunnel of light.
I know because it happened to me in bed last night. I thought I was a huge implementer of change (I have a lot of experience with change) but sometimes fear gets the best of us. Last night it left me.
Life is too short to worry because what you’re worrying about may never happen before you die!
I am alive and that is the best reason to be happy!
Remember, you control your happiness, not external factors depending upon the way someone else treats you or what they say to you. Don’t just go through life waiting to be offended.
This is you and your life!
Go ahead, pull off that band-aid.
Now, what about you? Do you have a story of a change you have been waiting to make? Or a change that you were afraid of at first, but now you feel relieved that you did it?
Just wanted to pass on something that we seen on our tax preparers (Kristel's) billboard…
” My mind works like a parachute… only when it's open!” How true is that philosophy?!!!
