“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon
When it all boils down to it, we are all trying to attract or intend something (or many things) into our lives, whether it is a job, more money, a better relationship, happiness or any other desire of life. The list goes on and on and is individual to each of us. We all just want to be happy and fulfilled. The definition of happiness and fulfillment is in itself unique to each of us and gives life meaning.
For us, we have gone down the path towards fulfillment. We have had lots of great fun and enjoyment traveling, spending time with friends and family, endeavoring in many business opportunities, and seeking spiritual enlightenment. All of this has led to us waking up to life and creating a philosophy of life.
We have learned that we can pursue success as its defined in the sense of money, but we also know there are other currencies of success and fulfillment that are worth more than money that we must strive to obtain.
This discovery came to us after asking and answering many questions to ourselves. Questions like:
What is our purpose? What is our higher calling? What brings us excitement and passion in this world?
We’re sure you’ve felt the same way every now and then. If you haven’t, are you still alive?
The answers to these questions have been staring us in the face all along. We have actually been living a philosophy of life that we want to share.
We define this philosophy as having a holistic view of life and fulfillment. This holistic view takes into account every moment of life. We must assess our sense of fulfillment in every waking moment including the fun and excitement that go with life, as well as the struggle at times that we must endure.
That moment may be something as seemingly small as spending time with your family and friends or seemingly large as contributing to world peace and everything in between. The point is that all of it matters just as equally as long as you acknowledge it.
The problem is we all typically go after our lives with a hard-core determination that we have all been programmed to believe. All of us think that one day we will be happy; one day we will have everything we want.
The problem is that one day will never come because we will never have everything we want. Our desires are limitless. The moment one desire is achieved, another comes and it is a fabulous thing. It keeps our hearts pounding and our minds thinking as we experience life.
Therefore, the answer is to acknowledge and embrace our limitless desires and begin to deeply appreciate each desire as it manifests, no matter how small it may seem.
Otherwise, we lose sight of life and those moments in between that make all the difference.
Of course we have to be passionate and excited to go after our dreams as if there is no tomorrow, because there may not be. However, this does not mean we do not take the time to smell the roses and appreciate life and everything we currently have in it.
This, our friends, is what we have learned.
Each moment is magical and wondrous. Please go out and create your wonderful life.
Now, please tell us your thoughts on this subject. What nuggets of wisdom would you add? We look forward to the conversation.
We all have a higher purpose that we are unaware of, mine for example was to be the best Mom that I could possibly be. With God's blessing he gave me two of the most amazing people to raise me & for this I thank him everyday!
Because of their beliefs, morals & standards I can now see that with compassion, patience, sensibility and love anything is possible. There are people in this world that don't have what I have or have had & for them I would like to say call upon your inner being as there is strength within you, ask for help, do not be too proud and most importantly remember that you deserve fulfillment of your desired calling.
For you see that this website was designed by my son & daughter-in-law! They too teach and guide with tools, resources, and hopes for a better world! My amazing ride is just beginning as yours is if you open yourself up to new and endless possibilities! May you become the person you have always wanted to be! Now buckle up! Get ready, set, GO!
Life is now, that's what we have. And so, I think it's about being fully present in the moment. Whatever that means, personally, for each of us. And whatever that does mean for each of us – it's something that should come from deep within our being. When we can get to that spot, where we touch upon our soul…beautiful things happen…
Lance, thank you for taking the time to comment. I agree with your remark,
being in the present moment is all we have. My wife and I have watched (and
read) Deepak Chopra's 7 Spiritual Laws of Success. In the film, there was
this particular woman who stated that her philosophy was that her purpose is
whatever it is at that moment. If a family member needs her, that is her
purpose in the present moment. If that day she is working on a project, that
is her purpose in the present moment. The present is all we have. We have
adopted a part of this philosophy for how we live our life.
